The Benz Patent-Motorwagen ("patent motorcar"), built in 1885, is widely regarded as the world's first production automobile, that is, a vehicle designed to be propelled by an internal combustion engine. Karl Benz unveiled his invention to the public on 3 July 1886, on the Ringstrasse in Mannheim. About 25 Patent-Motorwagen were built between 1886 and 1893. This box contains an unassembled plastic model kit. Length 106mm, height 67mm, includes 76 plastic parts and 12 photo-etched parts for the patent motorcar as well as 31 parts for the three figures. Cement and paint needed to finish model as shown are not included. Instruction sheet with drawings is included.
